Mayor Katjana Ballantyne, Somernova, the Somerville Commission for Women, the Human Rights Commission and the City of Somerville’s Department of Racial and Social Justice (RSJ) invite the Somerville community to join the City’s second annual Women’s History Month celebration. The event will take place on March 29th from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. at 29 Properzi Way, Somerville, MA 02143.
“Somerville’s Women’s History Month celebration will not only recognize the tremendous impact that women have had in shaping our city and our nation, but also serve as a launching pad for our city’s next generation of female-identifying and non-binary leaders,” said Mayor Ballantyne. “It is events like this that build momentum as we continue the hard work of breaking down barriers and creating a more inclusive future for all.”
This year’s celebration will honor and celebrate the incredible achievements of womxn throughout history, as well as provide a platform for women, non-binary folx, and allies to connect, share their experiences, and expand their network.
“We are excited to bring together women and allies from all backgrounds to celebrate the amazing accomplishments of women throughout history,” said Kristin Phelan with Somernova. “This event will be an opportunity to connect, learn, and share our experiences with one another.”
The celebration is open to all women, non-binary folx, and allies who are interested in supporting and uplifting women. Attendees can expect an inspiring evening filled with engaging speakers, networking opportunities, and a chance to connect with like-minded individuals.
